Holding this for a staged migration — Electron 35→39 spans 4 majors (Chromium uplifts, Node version bump, removed APIs across 36/37/38/39). Plan is to walk it 35 → 36 → 37 → 38 → 39 on a dedicated branch with the per-version breaking-change checklists, rather than land it as a single Dependabot bump. Leaving the PR open as a tracker.

Superseded by #1094, which was opened on a fresh branch so the upgrade can be tested end-to-end. The build break here was a removed plugin-crashed webContents event (gone in Electron 38) — fixed in #1094 along with the bump.
