What changed

  • adds bounded local capture profiles for exact decoder-pack and UDP or serial setup recall without storing credentials, device permission, session titles, or telemetry
  • adds live UDP and Web Serial preflight with traffic, framing, checksum, family, endpoint, and decoder-fit observations
  • establishes an explicit evidence boundary: UDP replaces the discarded probe with a new owned capture, while serial keeps the selected port and routes only future reads after a framing reset
  • packages decoder portability, the receiver, comparative replay, worker-backed large-session processing, and field capture readiness as NarrowsLink v0.2.0
  • updates current-state documentation, use cases, accessibility evidence, security support, release notes, and visual QA

Why

Field operators need to prove the laptop can see the intended source and interpret its protocol before they begin an evidence capture. Probe traffic must remain distinguishable from immutable incident evidence, and recurring setups must be reusable without becoming a secrets or telemetry store.

Verification

  • npm test: 289 tests across 37 files
  • npm run typecheck
  • production application and CLI builds
  • CLI smoke verification
  • source Playwright matrix: 52 passed, 2 intentional skips across Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit
  • reproducible release gate: two byte-identical builds
  • unpacked v0.2 package matrix: 6 passed across Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit
  • documentation link audit and visual QA at 1487x1058 and 390x844
