8088/8086 v20/v30 adapters for QFP52 and PLCC44 chips to convert to 40 pin DIP.
The main reason for this project is that most 16 mhz DIP40 v20s and v30s online are fakes, but QFP and PLCC versions are available and don't seem to be faked. The adapters are small and you can toss them into your next pcb order and get a bunch made for cheap.
QFP52 adapter tested with UPD70116HG-16 (V30) in IBM PS/2 Model 30 PLCC44 adapter tested with N80C88AL-2 (8088) and UPD70108HLM-16(V20) in Juko Super Turbo
Some notes:

IMPORTANT! Most pin headers will not fit in a DIP socket. Look for machined pin headers. I personally used some on Amazon called "Chanzon Round Pin Header Strip" which claim to have 0.5mm thick legs.

The NEC QFP52 legs seem to extend beyond the kicad library pads so I had to manually push in all the legs with tweezers to have room to solder them which is a little annoying. Someone with more time on their hands could improve this.

The QFP52 layout is large and unfortunately may cover up the 8087 socket in the machine. The pins might give the adapter clearance over the FPU though.
