Loading mesh file takes too long

Hi! When I import the mesh file (.msh) that I generated, SOFA takes a long time to read it, about 3 to 4 hours. I suspect this might be because my mesh file is a bit large, as the example files usually load much faster.

My mesh file is 90 Mb in size, with around 370,000 nodes and 1.65 million unstructured tetrahedral elements.

However, for the simulation I haved finished in ABAQUS (finite element analysis of aortic valve stent implantation), this mesh size is quite common.

So, I'm really frustrated, as the loading time is just too long. What can I do to improve this? I would really appreciate your help.

Here are the specifications of my computer:

Ubuntu 18.04
Memory: 125.8 GiB
Processor: AMD® Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX 32-core processor × 32
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2
Disk: 10.4 TB

Could you tell us how you load the mesh? Is it with the component MeshGmshLoader or in Python?

So it may be faster in Python? Could I get some examples?

I don't have such an example but the idea is to use the gmsh Python package to load your mesh and then transfer the data to SOFA. I found an example of loading the file: https://gitlab.onelab.info/gmsh/gmsh/blob/gmsh_4_13_1/tutorials/python/x1.py. Then, you copy the mesh data to the SOFA topology and mechanical object.
