I spent decades expanding and refining my skills, matching the pace of the web and mobile technology industry as it’s grown and changed.
For the last decade-plus I’ve focused on high-ownership, minimal-oversight work across the domains of software engineering, software architecture, system design, infrastructure and security, leading teams, mentoring junior developers, and directly working with and supporting enterprise clients like Nasdaq, AAA, Accenture, Pepsi and Paypal.
My early projects include UI/UX, design, frontend, backend, data modeling and optimization, and often serving as a jack-of-all-trades for startups as well as established enterprise clients.
I’m a strong believer in flexible code, type safety, testing, SOLID principles, systems thinking and constant learning. I actively seek out solutions to problems and opportunities to learn rather than waiting for them to come to me.

End-to-end ownership of software development, software architecture, technical leadership, systems design, cloud infrastructure and security at an SaaS platform used by organizations for publishing social media posts as well as tracking and analyzing their performance.
- Maintained and extended a legacy codebase in parallel with a full platform rebuild, keeping production stable throughout the transition.
- Designed, implemented, and led a ground-up platform rebuild in API Platform and Symfony using domain-driven design, replacing a legacy system without service interruption and delivering a 50%-80% drop in latency and a 50% reduction in compute requirements.
- Implemented, optimized, maintained and owned PostgreSQL data storage and advanced SQL queries, including event stores and time-series data.
- Developed in-depth visual and written technical documentation of our implementation of DDD, CQRS and other architectures, and mentored junior developers on adopting those architectures.
- Moved many workloads from cron-based execution to asynchronous pub/sub event-based processing.
- Consistently reduced cloud spend, sometimes 25% at a time, allowing headroom for new features without budget increases.
- Wrote many more third-party API integrations, including workflow-based multi-vendor integrations.
- Wrote microservices in Golang.
- Kubernetes implementation allowed us to consistently deliver 99.99% uptime SLAs.
- Instrumental in leadership and implementation of SOC2 compliance work.
- Led a dev team of 2–8, including hiring, code review, and technical leadership and direction.

- Maintained and extended legacy codebase.
- Performed code refactoring of the original single-process, overloaded cron-based publishing script as a standalone publishing engine, with internal task queuing, scheduling and multiprocess task execution, allowing it to handle more job types and 400% more throughput while eliminating publishing delays despite doubling the user base.
