What's fixed
Recording start glitch — Every recording used to have a ~1.5-second frozen frame at the very beginning. The teleprompter HUD's camera preview layer was initializing at the exact moment recording started, briefly halting frame delivery. It now pre-connects during the 3-second countdown so the first frame out of the gate is clean.
Menubar recording indicator — The menu bar icon now switches to a red recording dot (⏺) while recording is active. Click it once to stop — no need to navigate into the menu. Right-click still gives you the full menu if you need it.
Smarter recording start — Rapid double-clicks on Record during the countdown are now ignored. If the recorder can't create the output file for any reason, you'll see a clear error alert instead of a silent failure.
Idle CPU usage — Voice-activity detection no longer runs when Radcap is just sitting in the menu bar. It activates when you press Record and turns off when you stop.
Capture performance — Cropped recordings (Square, Vertical) now reuse the pixel buffer pool instead of allocating a new buffer on every frame.
Accessibility — Reduce Transparency and Reduce Motion settings are now respected in the teleprompter HUD during recording.

What's new
Live device refresh — Camera and microphone pickers now update instantly when you plug in or remove a device, even while the menu is open. If a device you were using disappears (unplugged, powered off), Radcap automatically falls back to the next available device. No more restart required when swapping mics or setups.
