Software engineer with a background in building large-scale, distributed cloud systems.
Previously, I spent time at AWS, where I learned a thing or two about reliability, scalability, and why everything eventually needs observability.
These days, I'm a member of the GitHub Enterprise Server (or GHES) team improving the performance and observability of the platform. In my spare time, I enjoy mixing professional cloud experience with hands-on tinkering—especially when it involves running servers in my house and pretending I’m my own SRE team.
- Design and build distributed systems
- Think deeply about cloud infrastructure, reliability, and automation
- Contribute to open source when something scratches an itch
- Run way too many services at home (for fun, learning, and mild chaos)
I’m a big fan of self-hosting and learning by doing. Some key infrastructure I currently run:
- Home Assistant – smart home orchestration & automations
- Frigate – local-first NVR and computer vision
- Komo.do – monitoring and insight into what’s actually happening
If it can be containerized, automated, and observed… I’m probably interested.
When I’m not staring at logs or code:
- 🧗 Rock climbing (gravity is optional, apparently)
- 🥾 Hiking
- 🏂 Snowboarding
- 🌲 Generally enjoying being outside after spending too long inside
I enjoy contributing to open source projects, experimenting with new tools, and continuously refining how systems are built and operated—both in the cloud and on-prem (aka my homelab).
