Technical architect, systems thinker, and software engineer focused on modeling complex real-world systems into durable software platforms.
Over the last 20 years I’ve helped lead technical direction and foundational architecture at mission-driven startups tackling inequity in education and climate-focused fintech; leveraging complex workflow systems, and large-scale institutional data integration. My work has included designing source-of-truth data architectures, workflow/state-machine systems, and abstractions that allow messy operational domains to become coherent, resilient software platforms. I’ve intentionally gravitated toward organizations with "noble & desperate causes" - choosing to focus my energy on problems that are extremely challenging, but worth it if we want to be more proud of the culture we engage in.
I’m especially interested in systems that realign incentives, expand access, and challenge entrenched structures that create unnecessary friction, inequity, or extraction. Technically, I’m drawn to domain-driven design, human-centered systems, and architecture that helps people (technical and otherwise) better understand and shape the systems they participate in.
