Opens the next Unreleased changelog section after the verified release.

Created by the fleet release closeout stage.

Thanks for the context here. I did a careful shell check against current main, and this is already implemented.

Current main already has the exact Unreleased section, landed through the merged release-closeout work in #135; this duplicate branch is no longer needed.

So I’m closing this as already implemented rather than keeping a duplicate issue open.

Review details

Best possible solution:

Keep the existing current-main release-closeout implementation and use its Unreleased section for the next release cycle.

Do we have a high-confidence way to reproduce the issue?

Not applicable: this PR changes release-note structure rather than a reproducible product behavior.

Is this the best way to solve the issue?

Yes: the identical narrow changelog update is already on current main, so merging this duplicate branch adds no value.

Security review:

Security review cleared: The one-file changelog-only patch introduces no security or supply-chain surface.

AGENTS.md: not found in the target repository.

What I checked:

  • Current-main implementation: Current main has the top-level Unreleased heading at the start of the changelog, followed by post-release entries. (CHANGELOG.md:3, b407a906004b)
  • Fix provenance: Commit 0694dbc added the identical two-line changelog section and is in main history as the merged release-closeout change. (CHANGELOG.md:3, 0694dbc2f666)
  • Release provenance: v0.8.2 contains the preceding release-preparation commit, while no local tag contains 0694dbc; the matching changelog update is current-main-only. (CHANGELOG.md:3, 0694dbc2f666)

Likely related people:

  • Peter Steinberger: Authored the merged changelog closeout commit and the subsequent current-main changelog updates. (role: current-main implementation author; confidence: high; commits: 0694dbc2f666, 10e287b4255f, b407a906004b; files: CHANGELOG.md)

Codex review notes: model internal, reasoning high; reviewed against b407a906004b; fix evidence: commit 0694dbc2f666, main fix timestamp 2026-08-06T17:22:04-07:00.
