IGNIS is a high-stakes, low-poly 3D platformer where heat is your greatest enemy and your only currency for survival. As a lone robot traversing a crumbling frozen monolith, you must manage your internal thermal levels to prevent a total system meltdown.
Theme: "The Heat is On" Developed for the Enyugma '26 techno-cultural fest at IIIT Bhagalpur, IGNIS interprets the theme through both environmental storytelling and core gameplay mechanics. The contrast between the freezing blue ice and the glowing orange "Heat" core highlights the robot's struggle to maintain equilibrium in an entropic world.
Core Mechanics
- Thermal Management System (The Heat Slider) Your robot continuously loses heat in the frozen environment. You must collect heat sources to stay active, but beware—overheating triggers a System Meltdown.
Dynamic Visuals: The robot's emission color shifts from cool blue to dangerous neon orange as heat levels rise.
Cooling Vents: Act as safe havens and checkpoints, resetting your thermal levels and saving your progress.
- Checkpoint & Respawn System Falling off the icy platforms or overheating doesn't mean Game Over.
The FallHandler system tracks your last visited Cooling Vent and teleports you back instantly upon failure.
- Interactive Narrative Cinematic Cutscenes: Story-driven intro and outro videos provide context for your mission within the monolith.
The Monolith Core: Reaching the final core at the end of Level 2 triggers the stabilization sequence and game completion.
Technical Details Engine: Unity 6 (6000.3.5f2)
UI System: TextMeshPro for high-fidelity HUD and menus.
Input: Hybrid Input Handling (supporting both Legacy and New Input Systems).
Visuals: Low-poly 3D assets with custom Emission-based Shaders.
