A lightning-fast, zero-latency local file sharing tool bridging the gap between Windows PCs and iOS/Smartphones. No internet or mobile app required!
The Ultimate File Transfer Bridge Between Windows & iOS/Smartphones
Transferring files between a Windows PC and an iPhone has always been a headache—until now. LocalDrop Pro is a lightweight, zero-latency, cross-platform local file-sharing application designed to make sharing photos, videos, and large files as seamless as Apple's AirDrop, but built for Windows and mobile devices.
No cables, no internet connection, and no third-party mobile apps required!
- 🍎 Perfect for Windows & iOS: Specifically optimized to solve the file-transfer friction between Windows PCs and iPhones/iPads.
- ⚡ Zero-Latency Speeds: Uses your local Wi-Fi router network. Files transfer at the maximum speed your router supports.
- 📦 Smart ZIP Batching: Sending multiple files to an iPhone? LocalDrop automatically packs them into an uncompressed ZIP file for a seamless, 1-click download on iOS.
- 🌐 No Mobile App Needed: Just use your phone's native browser (Safari/Chrome).
- 📁 Custom Folder Picker: Receive files on your PC and save them exactly where you want using the native Windows folder selector.
- Go to the Releases page and download the latest
localdrop-pro.exe. - Double-click the
.exefile to open the server on your PC.
- Make sure your Phone and PC are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Look at the LocalDrop app window on your PC. It will display a specific IP address (e.g.,
http://192.168.1.5:3000). - Open Safari (on iPhone) or Chrome (on Android) and type that exact address into the URL bar.
- Boom! You are connected.
- PC to Phone: Drag and drop files into the PC app. They will instantly appear on your phone's screen with a download button.
- Phone to PC: Tap the selection box on your phone, choose your photos/videos, and hit send. A save prompt will appear on your PC.
Since this is a free, open-source project without a paid Microsoft Code Signing Certificate, Windows 11 "Smart App Control" or Windows Defender SmartScreen might block the .exe file from running, showing an "Unknown Publisher" warning.
This app is 100% safe and runs locally. To fix this and use the app:
If you see a Blue SmartScreen warning:
- Click on "More info" -> Then click "Run anyway".
If blocked by Smart App Control (Windows 11):
- Open your Windows Start Menu and search for Smart App Control.
- Open the settings and change it from "On" or "Evaluation" to "Off".
- Run the
localdrop-pro.exefile again. It will now work perfectly!
- Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Backend: Node.js, Express.js
- Desktop Wrapper: Electron
- Networking: Socket.io, WebRTC, Archiver (for zero-compression ZIPs)
