Announcement Oct 20, 21

  1. Starting this week, the 2.12 Lab will be open to everyone on Thursdays (11am to 5pm) and Fridays (11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm). These are the regular lab hours. Teams can attend any of these lab sections. Priority access to the platform will be for the 2 teams of a given lab section.

  2. Each team fill out one extended lab hour survey.

  3. Send all team members needing Github access to Ryan (fishr@mit.edu) so he can add them to your repository.

  4. Please ask questions about competition rules on Piazza so that everyone will get a consistent answer.

  5. Each team will have your own desk till the end of the semester, and the desk assignment is drawn on the white board.

  6. The robot computers are upgraded from Ubuntu 14.04 with ROS Version Indigo to Ubuntu 16.04 with ROS Version Kinetic. Lab examples may need minor updates in order to work. The ROS workspace in this repo is updated and tested with the new settings. So you can use it as software template. You can report bugs in the program on the issue board. You are also welcome to contribute to this repo by creating pull request.

  7. Staff store all the Dynamixel in the shelf to protect them. If you need to get your two Dynamixels, ask Ryan.

  8. Staff store all the WIFI dongles in the shelf. If you need one, ask TAs.

  9. You can pick a storage box in the back of the lab to store your hardware.

  10. Before you leave the lab, please return all the tools you borrow and keep the lab space clean and organized.

  11. Label your hardware items clearly with (2.12, item-id, date, person/team). For example, (2.12, motor1, 10/30/2016, team1a).
