Audio issues after muting
Try restarting focusmute and your audio interface. Ensure your audio settings match your usage.
focusmute uses USB HID (Human Interface Device) commands to interact with the Scarlett interface. When you press the hotkey, focusmute sends a signal to mute or unmute the microphone. The interface’s LED also changes to show the mute state. The app keeps this synced so your audio input is controlled instantly without delay.
- Assign a hotkey that is easy to press but unlikely to interrupt other software.
- Keep the Scarlett device firmware updated to ensure full compatibility.
- Run focusmute automatically on Windows startup for convenience.
- Use focusmute together with your favorite communication software like Zoom, Teams, or Skype for smooth audio control.
focusmute stores configuration and logs in your user folder:
C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Local\focusmute\
Logs help diagnose problems if the tool does not work as expected. You can delete these files to reset focusmute settings.
