⚠️ We have discovered and confirmed an unintended backward compatibility issue in MarkLogic Server version 12.0.2, which affects how MarkLogic REST API executes REST extensions with specific user privileges. As a result, any use of MarkLogic REST API extensions may cause unexpected errors. We are working with highest priority to provide a product update with a fix as soon as possible. If your implementation relies on this functionality, we recommend delaying an upgrade until a new release is available. If you believe this issue may affect or has affected your implementation please contact Support for recommendations.

Starting with MarkLogic 11.3.4, the MarkLogic CloudFormation Template supports Amazon Linux 2023 for AWS Graviton. Select the "AmazonLinux2023-Graviton" value from "OSType" parameter and use "InstanceTypeGraviton" parameter to select the graviton instance types to create MarkLogic cluster using the AL2023 AWS Graviton AMI. The default value for the "OSType" parameter is "AmazonLinux2023".

The supported instance types for Graviton:

  • Graviton instance families (t4g, c6g, c6gd, c6gn, c7g, c7gd, c7gn, c8g, c8gd, c8gn, c8gb, m6g, m6gd, m7g, m7gd, m8g, m8gd, m8gn, m8gb, r6g, r6gd, r7g, r7gd, r8g, r8gd, r8gn, r8gb, x8g, i8g, i8ge)

The supported instance types have been updated for Intel:

Starting with MarkLogic 12.0.1, the Python version used by the AWS Lambda functions in the MarkLogic CloudFormation template has been updated from 3.9 to 3.13. Python 3.9 will be deprecated as of Dec 15, 2025. To update their Python versions, existing clusters created with MarkLogic CFT versions prior to MarkLogic 12.0.1 must have their Lambda functions patched or must be redeployed.

For more information on directly patching the Lambda functions, refer to the KB article Upgrade Python from 3.9 to 3.13 in MarkLogic AWS CloudFormation Environments

The supported instance types have been updated:

Support for additional instance families (m8a, m8i, m8i-flex, c8i, c8i-flex, r8i, r8i-flex)
