👋 Jules, reporting for duty! I'm here to lend a hand with this pull request. When you start a review, I'll add a 👀 emoji to each comment to let you know I've read it. I'll focus on feedback directed at me and will do my best to stay out of conversations between you and other bots or reviewers to keep the noise down. I'll push a commit with your requested changes shortly after. Please note there might be a delay between these steps, but rest assured I'm on the job! For more direct control, you can switch me to Reactive Mode. When this mode is on, I will only act on comments where you specifically mention me with New to Jules? Learn more at jules.google/docs. 💡 What: Replaced linear array lookups with O(1) Set lookups in
blocking_commitment_idsandblocked_peer_host_idsinkernel/kernel/cases.py. Also added.jules/bolt.mdto document the learning.🎯 Why: During case-retrieval inside frequent routines (like queue dispatch), tracking visited items via a List and applying the
not inoperator triggers O(N) operations inside a loop, resulting in O(N^2) time complexity. Using Python sets dramatically drops the overhead to O(1) checks.📊 Impact: Reduces computational overhead by transforming O(N^2) algorithms to linear O(N) traversals on the case lookup operations, eliminating an exponential scaling factor that could choke the message handoff execution loops as scale increases.
🔬 Measurement: Verify tests run completely successfully. Profiling any multi-host queue simulations will show reduced CPU time on dictionary lookups versus array containment.
