Hi! I'm Luisa Magaña — a mathematician, programmer, industrial engineer, and lifelong learner who genuinely believes that mathematics and technology can improve people's lives.
I hold a B.S. in Mathematical Computing (Universidad de Guanajuato / CIMAT, 2026) and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering focused on logistics and process optimization (UVEG, 2025). I spent the last year as a Research Assistant at CIMAT under an SNI Level III researcher, where I built an epidemiological surveillance system for chronic diseases across 46 municipalities in Guanajuato — delivered as both my thesis and a functional tool for health authorities. Before that, I reduced process losses by 36% in a clinical lab and 15% in food manufacturing, which taught me that good math has to land somewhere real.
What excites me most is the intersection between rigorous mathematics and real-world impact: optimization, metaheuristics, data science, scientific computing, and machine learning applied to problems that actually matter. My favorite question is always "how can we do this better?"
Beyond tech, I'm a science outreach educator at CIMAT and a member of Tecnolochicas — because more girls belong in tech 💪🏽 I also speak Spanish (native), English, French, and Mexican Sign Language 🤟
Outside of code: 🏃♀️ running · 💃 dancing whenever there's music (or not) · 🎵 always mid-playlist · 📚 reading things that spark new ideas
I believe knowledge becomes more meaningful when it's shared, and technology becomes more powerful when it serves people. Welcome to my corner of GitHub ✨
