Dead Pixel Checker & Screen Test

A lightweight, 100% browser-based, interactive tool designed to detect and help revive dead or stuck pixels on modern displays. Fully responsive and optimized for Desktops, iPhones, iPads, Android devices, and high-resolution screens (4K/5K/8K/OLED).

📺 Live Demo: https://heretool.com/dead-pixel-checker-screen-test

✨ Features

  • Fullscreen Diagnostic Test: Cycles through 8 essential solid color spectrums (Black, White, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Magenta, Cyan) to accurately reveal dead, stuck, or hot pixels.
  • Stuck Pixel Fixer: Features a high-frequency color flashing algorithm designed to stimulate and potentially revive lazy or stuck sub-pixels.
  • Cross-Platform Compatibility: Works out of the box on mobile and desktop web browsers without installing any extensions or applications.
  • Enhanced User Experience: - Utilizes the Screen Wake Lock API to prevent the display from sleeping during inspection.
    • Implements keyboard shortcuts (Arrow keys, Space, ESC) for seamless desktop navigation.
    • Minimalistic UI with zero dependencies.

🚀 How to Use

Screen Diagnostic Test

  1. Click the "Start Fullscreen Test" button.
  2. Tap the screen, press the Spacebar, or use the Right Arrow key to advance to the next color background. Use the Left Arrow key to return to a previous color.
  3. Carefully inspect your monitor on each color layer for any dots that mismatch the background.
  4. Press ESC or finish the color cycle to exit.

Stuck Pixel Fixer

  1. Click the "Run Stuck Pixel Fixer" button.
  2. Let the rapid color flasher run over the affected area for 10 to 30 minutes.
  3. Tap anywhere or press ESC to stop.

  • HTML5 (Semantic Structure)
  • CSS3 (Flexbox, Responsive Media Queries, Fullscreen Overlays)
  • Vanilla JavaScript (Fullscreen API, Screen Wake Lock API, DOM Event Handlers)
