Interview Scheduler

Description

A fully built and tested React application that allows users to book and cancel interviews. It combines a concise API wit a WebSocket server to build a realtime experience in a responsive, mobile friendly application.

Features

• SPA design using React
• Data is persisted by API server using PostgreSQL database
• Client application communicates with API server via HTTP using JSON
• Full testing with 7 suites of 35 tests using Jest, as well as E2E testing for complete user story via Cypress
• Users can:
  • create, delete, and edit appointments
  • get a real-time update of appointment availability
  • click on available spots to add new appointments
  • store and retrieve appointment schedules from the database

Getting Started

1. Install dependencies with npm install.
2. Get and install server from https://github.com/lighthouse-labs/scheduler-api.
3. Run servers using npm start.
4. To run tests, npm start.

Creating Appointment

User can create an appointment, with the number of remaining appointment-spots updating dynamically.

Editing Appointment

User can edit a previously saved appointment and resave it.

Deleting Appointment

User can delete an appointment, triggering a confirmation transition with the option to return back to the previous state or confirm deletion. When confirmed, the iterview is deleted from the database, the number of remaining spots increases by one, and the add-appointment button reappears.

Error Handling

User is presented with an error transition and message in the event that there is an issue with saving or deleting an appointment due to a server side malfunction.
