This pull request contains a few slight additions needed to integrate this application with certain useful features on the testing domain; it includes integrations for Stackdriver Trace and Logging, as well as support for logging output to
syslog.I'm uncertain whether to immediately merge this in, as I'm not sure what service we will be running the actual production server on; any service capable of provisioning a Linux host will do, as far as I can see.
