Important Limitations

• This is a working dataset. Not every entry is fully checked or normalized.
• Some titles are incomplete, uncertain, or missing.
• Some pinyin and Wade-Giles forms are reconstructed rather than directly confirmed from the source.
• Some dynasty labels are inconsistent or still being standardized.
• Some entries are missing body text, or appear to have been merged, truncated, or damaged during extraction.
• OCR noise and transcription problems remain in parts of the dataset.
• Confidence labels are editorial signals, not guarantees of correctness.

How To Read the Status Labels

• normalized: relatively cleaner and more stabilized
• candidate: usable, but still a working draft
• uncertain: likely needs human review
• pending: not yet fully prepared

These labels are there to help you judge how much trust to place in a record before citing or reusing it.
