The repo scored 57% on GitHub's community profile — it has LICENSE, README, and SECURITY.md but no contributing guide or code of conduct. Both are also inputs to the OpenSSF Best Practices (CII) badge we're registering for (open Scorecard alert #21), so adding them now improves that assessment on first pass.
