Replyfy v1.3.0 Beta

This is the first fully working public beta of Replyfy.

Version v1.2.0 introduced major UI and tone upgrades, but it was not fully stable for release.
Version v1.3.0 fixes the Gemini API breakage, improves retry handling, hardens secret management, and is now the recommended APK for testing and daily use.

What's New

Gemini API fix and model migration

  • Fixed app-breaking Gemini failures caused by retired older model aliases
  • Migrated backend model integration to gemini-2.5-flash-lite
  • Removed unsupported responseMimeType usage from the failing flow
  • Improved JSON handling using prompt-based formatting and a more robust parser

Expanded AI tones

  • Replyfy now supports 6 smart reply tones:
    • Gen Z
    • Sarcastic
    • Sweet
    • Professional
    • Decline
    • Quick Reply

UI improvements

  • Revamped web and mobile UI
  • Added separate HOME, TONE, and SETTINGS sections
  • Improved floating bubble workflow with explicit tone selection on the overlay
  • Removed the emoji prefix from the smart replies panel header for a cleaner look

Better reliability

  • Upgraded exponential backoff from 3 retries / 2s base to 5 retries / 4s base
  • New retry pattern: 4s → 8s → 16s → 32s → 64s
  • Better recovery from Gemini free-tier quota limits and temporary API failures

Security improvements

  • Added secrets.properties to .gitignore
  • Added debug scripts and outputs to .gitignore
  • Confirmed backend secrets remain excluded from version control
  • Verified that no real Gemini API keys are present in tracked public source files

Important notes

  • v1.2.0 was an upgrade milestone, but not a fully stable public release
  • v1.3.0 is the current working beta release
  • Recommended for all new testers

Install

Download Replyfy-v1.3.0.apk from the release assets above.

Known issues

  • First API request can still be slower on cold backend start
  • Clipboard behavior may vary depending on Android version and background restrictions
  • This is still a beta build, so small UI or device-specific issues may remain

Installation

Requirements

Steps

  1. Download Replyfy.apk
  2. Enable "Install from Unknown Sources" if prompted
  3. Install the APK
  4. Open the app and grant overlay permission
  5. Start generating smart replies!

Quick Start Guide

First Time Setup

  1. Grant overlay and clipboard permissions
  2. Copy any message from WhatsApp, Telegram, or SMS
  3. Tap the floating button to generate suggestions
  4. Tap suggestion to copy, then paste back

Pro Tips

  • Incognito Mode - Toggle ON when you need complete privacy
  • Auto-Clear - Enable in settings to auto-wipe clipboard after 10s
  • Floating Bubble - Long-press to drag, tap to generate suggestions
