🚭 NO SMOKE

HTML5 TailwindCSS JavaScript License: MIT

A minimalist, evidence-based landing page designed to challenge smoking habits and deconstruct nicotine addiction through cognitive behavioral concepts.

🇮🇩 Bahasa Indonesia🇬🇧 English

⚡ Overview

NO SMOKE is a web-based medical student initiative that approaches tobacco dependence through cognitive regulation, highlighting that smoking is often a motor reflex rather than a conscious choice. Designed with a sleek, dark aesthetic, the application prompts users to reconsider their relationship with smoking by highlighting scientific facts about craving duration and the illusion of stress relief.

🧠 Core Scientific Concepts

The landing page breaks down smoking addiction into three main pillars:

1. The Autopilot Reflex (Automaticity)

  • Concept: Smoking is often driven by automatic motor impulses triggered by external cues (e.g., drinking coffee, waiting, boredom) before cognitive awareness takes place.
  • Citation: Piper et al. (2004)

2. The Stress Relief Illusion (Maladaptive Coping)

  • Concept: Nicotine does not reduce stress; instead, it raises the baseline heart rate and stress level. The perceived "calmness" is merely the temporary relief of withdrawal symptoms.
  • Citation: Parrott (1999); Wood & Griffiths (2009)

3. Taking Back the Wheel (Delay Strategy)

  • Concept: Craving spikes typically last only 3 to 5 minutes. By practicing cognitive regulation ("urge surfing"), the Prefrontal Cortex can override subconscious motor reflexes.
  • Citation: Kober et al. (2010)
