Hi! I am Xeraphinite (pronounced: /sərɑˈfiənət/)!
Currently, I am a novice researcher, a CJK language drifter, and a junior design engineer. Outside of research and hacking, I am a rhythm game maniac. I am a research student at Hokkaido University, LMD Lab.

Beyond research, coding, and manifesting my ideas with Codex, my interests span a broad spectrum of indoor subjects, including playing arcade rhythm games, drifting through CJK languages, and consuming CJK-specific media.
I am fascinated by arcade rhythm games, although I barely have time to play... I have played BEMANI games like pop’n music, beatmania IIDX, jubeat (new!), and SOUND VOLTEX; PC games such as DJMAX Respect V, EZ2ON, and previously osu!; and mobile games like Arcaea and Muse Dash.
Languages are another part of my life. I grew up speaking Mandarin, Cantonese, and the Teochew dialect, studied Japanese, and recently started learning Korean and Hokkien. I hope that one day I can move smoothly between all CJK languages, both in daily life and in research, without barriers.
As an indoor nerd, I spend lots of my precious time consuming diverse media content. For music, I prefer listening to K-pop, J-pop, VOCALOID, and doujin music. I am currently listening to Red Velvet: Velvet Summer, ARTMS: Hyper Ego, and Yves: Nails. For podcasts, movies, dramas, books, and other games, I also focus mainly on CJK regions. Recently, I enjoyed watching I Saw the TV Glow and am still waiting to play Kirby Air Riders, since I do not have a Nintendo Switch 2 yet. The adorable Kirby always gets my attention 😇. I am also eagerly awaiting Hamaguchi Ryusuke’s new film, All of a Sudden. Recently, I started playing Baldur’s Gate 3.
