In re-thinking the repo, many concepts are "higher up" in the structure than their usage justifies. Various types and traits are relocated to their narrower moments of use. It's possible they may be more broadly useful, but for the moment in this repo we'll try and compartmentalize them, to reduce the cognitive load if nothing else.
