i like the interactive a lot, but I wonder, as sequenced, if it takes away some of the potential for "wrong" answers?

In my experience (and to my initial surprise), I have students that plot the five vectors and then conclude that the span is a parabola, because it kinda looks like you can fit a parabola to those five points. Another team is then able to convince them otherwise by having them think about other vectors that they could have, but did not, draw.

This additional plotting is something that the interactive is already doing.

I wonder if we shouldn't have them try to form an initial guess about what the span is before inviting them to plot more vectors?

I think the motivation behind the extra plotting was because students were flailing around so much with their initial guesses as to the shape in an unproductive way. So in that light, I'm not sure it makes as much sense to ask them before using the interactive
