Zero Company Custom Difficulty

Adds a fully configurable Custom difficulty to the New Game screen in Star Wars: Zero Company.

Custom difficulty settings showing all configurable options

Features

  • Uses the game's original New Game menu, controls, descriptions, and scrollbar.
  • Exposes the complete verified difficulty matrix: campaign preset, AI behaviour, enemy accuracy, optimal range, long-range falloff, player damage, starting bond, and Bacta Tank availability.
  • Selecting Story, Normal, Hard, or Expert under Custom - Base Difficulty copies that preset's complete stock values into the rows below. Every value can then be tuned independently.
  • Extends numeric ranges in both directions beyond the stock presets. There is no separate Lethal preset; a lethal ruleset can be created under Custom.
  • Adds Play Tutorial Mission. Turning it off uses the game's stock tutorial simulation and starts in the Den without the prologue or Hawks character creator.
  • Tutorial-off campaigns can immediately use Personnel and Armoury. Show Tutorials is also turned off to prevent facility tutorials from softlocking the shortened progression.
  • Leaves health bars, shields, downing, injuries, third-injury death, Beskar Mode, and Permadeath unchanged.

What you'll need

The mod checks the executable build and disables itself if it does not match.

Getting it running

  1. Quit the game.

  2. Set UE4SS up in <game>\SWZeroCompany\Binaries\Win64 (its own page covers that).

  3. Drop the ZIP's contents into that same Win64 folder. You should land at:

    ...\ue4ss\Mods\ZeroCompanyCustomDifficulty\dlls\main.dll

  4. Launch. The bundled enabled.txt turns the mod on automatically.

Preview testers should remove the old ...\ue4ss\Mods\ZeroCompanyLethalCustom folder so both builds cannot load together.

Using it

Start a new campaign and cycle Difficulty past Expert to Custom. Its settings appear below the normal campaign options and use the stock scrolling controls.

If Show Tutorials is off, the stock menu disables the Play Tutorial Mission row. Turn Show Tutorials on first if you want to re-enable the mission. Turning Play Tutorial Mission off will switch Show Tutorials off again.

Custom values are saved locally, but the mod starts in a stock difficulty after each cold launch. Select Custom before starting a campaign; existing campaigns are never silently converted.

Removing it

Quit the game and delete:

...\ue4ss\Mods\ZeroCompanyCustomDifficulty

The release contains no extracted game assets and does not directly edit save files.
