try...exceptblocks with explicit bounds checking (0 <= x < self.dim.x and 0 <= y < self.dim.y) in spatial loops.🎯 Why: Out-of-bounds SWIG object lookups in CompuCell3D throw exceptions that incur significant overhead when caught by
try...exceptblocks in tightly nested spatial loops.📊 Impact: Eliminates exception handling overhead in tight loops and replaces hardcoded loop dimensions (
500) with dynamic dimensions (self.dim.x), reducing execution time.🔬 Measurement: The optimization was validated with a standalone benchmark (
