Kohaku Lab is a virtual-first research lab — no office, no corporate structure, just people who love building AI/ML tools and doing research together across time zones.
We publish at top venues (LyCORIS at ICLR 2024, TIPO at ICLR 2026), build the infrastructure we need (model hosting, cluster management, experiment tracking), create databases and ML utilities, and even play with AI-powered board games. The philosophy is simple: scratch your own itch.
Led by KohakuBlueLeaf (Shih-Ying Yeh) and joined by contributors worldwide, we work across the full stack of AI — from neural network research and GPU kernels to production infrastructure and databases.
