We have a nodes list maintainer (@nurupo) and every new node gets vetted by him. If you wish to maintain your own list independently, that's fine. But you will have to prove yourself to be a trusted community member before any pull requests like this get accepted. For the time being it would be much safer to simply use the most recent list from the internet archive.

I don’t have much to say about how to prove that I’m a trustworthy member-I’ve simply been trying to launch my own Tox node since last November. But what I do want to mention is that it took over a month from the time I submitted my node until it went live. Recently, when I tried to resubmit a new node, the domain expired within these days because no one renewed it.

If you’re interested, it’s certainly possible to find reputable contributors to help me manage the domain and server. When I discussed this with the toktok-dev group yesterday, I mentioned that the reason I want to try maintaining my own node list is because I’m frustrated by the extremely low efficiency of nodes.tox.chat and the wiki. If possible, could I serve as an extension of the official list, or a backup to it (i.e., I’d act as a secondary submitter—submissions from my site would be published there first, and I’d then forward them to the upstream list), rather than being forced to rely solely on an inefficient “decentralized ‘official’ list” that’s now completely stalled?
