🎯 What: Replaced the insecure temporary file creation for SSH configs with a securely generated directory using
fs.mkdtempSync.nemoclaw-state-${process.pid}-${Date.now()}.conf) within the global temporary directory (os.tmpdir()). This made the system susceptible to symlink or file pre-creation attacks, where a malicious actor could intercept, read, or manipulate sensitive SSH configurations or escalate privileges.🛡️ Solution: Updated
writeTempSshConfiginsrc/lib/state/sandbox.tsto usefs.mkdtempSyncto create a uniquely named, securely permissioned (0700) temporary directory. Thessh_config.confis now placed safely inside this directory. Also ensured safe cleanup of both the file and the temporary directory after use.✅ Verification: Verified that tests pass via
pnpm testandnpm run verify:core, ensuring no regressions in functionality.Signed-off-by: Jules jules@example.com
