PROMETHEUS intersects live hazard and threat activity with federal land boundaries — answering a deceptively simple operational question: what is happening right now, and is it happening on or near land we are responsible for? Built in a U.S. Department of the Interior mission context by Deepinder Uppal.
This repository is the system's public front door. The application itself is private. The open data layer below is public and running on autonomous schedules.
| Domain | What it tracks | Open sources |
|---|---|---|
| 🔥 Hazards × Lands | Active wildfires, severe-weather alerts, and earthquakes intersected against federal land boundaries | NIFC WFIGS · NWS alerts · USGS |
| 🖥 Cyber | Known exploited vulnerabilities, recent CVEs, industrial-control-system advisories | CISA KEV · NIST NVD · CISA ICS |
| 🌍 Kinetic | Active disaster alerts, travel advisories, significant seismic events | GDACS · U.S. State Department · USGS |
All sources are open and keyless — no credentials anywhere in the public layer.
Same pattern as FIRESTORM: autonomous scheduled pipelines harvest open federal sources, quality-control and simplify them (including server-side geometry simplification of land boundaries), and publish slim JSON products to a CDN for the operational frontend.
- prometheus-hazard-lands-data — hazard × DOI-lands intersections: fires, weather alerts, and quakes tested against land masks on a 15-minute cycle
- prometheus-intel-data — cyber + kinetic situational-awareness feeds with a documented panel data contract
- prometheus-doi-lands-data — simplified federal land-boundary masks from authoritative sources
The application, its operational logic, internal integrations, infrastructure, and any government-sensitive implementation detail. The public layer contains only open federal data reshaped for efficient delivery.
