Add MIT license and README license section

Why

This project did not clearly declare a distribution license in-repo. Adding an MIT license file and linking it from the README makes the licensing terms explicit for contributors and users.

What changed

• Added a new LICENSE file with the MIT License text.
• Added a License section to README.md that points to the LICENSE file.

Verification

• Reviewed git diff for README.md and LICENSE.
• No code/runtime changes; tests were not run because this is a documentation and licensing update only.

Limitations
