Orbit 5.2.0 - scroll up / down on mobile / tablet and cross-fade does not work

I'm using Orbit from Foundation 5.2.0 and what I've noticed is that the 'fade' transition is not 'cross-fade' anymore.
Image seem to fade out to the background colour and the new one fades in after.

Is that a bug or deliberate?

Also - with this version I can't seem to scroll up the content on iPhone / iPad if placing a thumb / finger over the slideshow - can only scroll if I do it over the content outside of the orbit - this causes serious problem as some slideshows are pretty high, covering most of the screen on mobile devices.

+1 Orbit doesn't allow normal page vertical scrolling when using the finger over it in iPad devices.
Any workarounds?

disables orbit horizontal swipe and reverts normal vertical scroll behavior on devices.

+1 Orbit disabling vertical scrolling is a significant oversight.
