We are trying to implement alerts if memcache is down. At the moment it's not possible as ping will give 500 status code and locally there are lot of other errors.
This issue is fixing:
- Don't fail or give status code 500 when Memcache is not working
And adding new feature:
- Send memcache errors to Drupal logs
