Calculation of Charging Costs

First of all, thank you for the great app.
I noticed something. Charging costs are currently calculated based on the amount of energy added. However, actual energy consumption during charging is always slightly higher due to charging losses. This calculation distorts the charging costs. Teslamate itself calculates the costs based on energy used. This then yields the correct kWh price. Otherwise the kWh price is always wrong.

So, I would like to challenge you on this topic: in my opinion - and that's why I made it like it is - you want to see the cost per kWh that actually ended INSIDE the battery, which is at the end of the day the real consumption of your drive. Personally, I don't want to know the cost per kWh of the electricity I'm getting from the charger, I already know that from the SuC bill or my electricity company's bill. But what I don't know is the cost per km I do excluding the losses in the charge, which is a factor to keep in mind especially when charging at home in AC.

Interesting discussion.
At first, I agreed with ChamesBont, thinking that the current implementation had a bug, but just yesterday I had a similar discussion in a YouTube chat about how to calculate the real cost per kilometer.
Of course, people with combustion engine cars were saying, "I look at what I pay at the gas station and then divide it by the kilometers I've driven," but obviously, with an electric car, it's not exactly like that.
There are more factors involved, so in this case the current implementation could have all sense.

From that perspective, your argument is certainly understandable. But wouldn’t it be better to label these costs differently? For example, “actual cost per kWh”? And possibly, in addition, the “charging price per kWh,” to make it easy to quickly compare charging prices?

I do think that providing these actual kWh costs makes sense. In my opinion, however, it’s positioned in a way that’s somewhat misleading - especially if you're familiar with the other calculation from Teslamate.
Nevertheless, this app is a great addition to everyday life 👍

Thanks for the input both, I'll think about it and see if there is a way to present the information cleanly without overwhelm or confuse the user (or the UI itself)
