it's been 3 months since release. I spent a day trying to replace my current markdown renderer with this, I ran into a bug, and tried to create a repro - but it looks like the bug may have already been fixed. It's a bit frustrating when important packages like this don't get even an unstable release so we can move past known bugs. 🥲 |

Hey @rauchg Streamdown and AI Elements have been open source from day one, and honestly that's why they took off - they've kind of become the default building blocks for a ton of us building AI streaming UIs. Thanks for putting them out there. You've always been one of the clearest voices on why open source wins - that it's as much about giving back as building. So I'm raising this in that same spirit, as someone who wants to give back, not as a complaint. The last npm release was 2.5.0 back in March, and there's now a really healthy pile of ~25 open PRs - a bunch of them look ready to go (accessibility, streaming/hydration fixes, CSV export, Mermaid download fixes, and more). The community's clearly rallied around these repos, which is kind of the best problem to have. Since the original author has moved on, we'd love to know where things are headed - and honestly, to help carry it. Would Vercel be open to a community-maintainer setup (a couple of trusted folks with review/release rights, alongside the agent-assisted flow) to keep things moving? Plenty of us are happy to pitch in - reviewing, testing, releasing, whatever helps. Same goes for Even just a quick signal - "still actively maintained" vs. "community-maintained from here" - would help everyone keep building on these with confidence. Thanks again for shipping these in the open. |

I’m a bit late to this discussion, but the good news is that Streamdown 2.6.0 was released yesterday and Streamdown will be maintained as before. (There was a small gap in between.) Thanks for your follow-up and for being concerned about the project 🙂 |

It's been 2 months since the last release. Any word on when we'll see some of the many PRs merged into a new release?
