Summary
When editing a page with ckgedit, saving a page that contains standard DokuWiki footnote syntax ((...)) can replace the entire page content with:
false
The same page can be edited and saved normally with the standard DokuWiki editor.
I was able to narrow the issue down to the presence of a footnote. If I remove the footnote, the page saves correctly in ckgedit.
Environment
DokuWiki release: 2025-05-14b "Librarian"
ckgedit version: 2022-10-06
PHP: 8.4.16
OS: Alpine Linux v3.22
SAPI: fpm-fcgi
Deployment: Docker
Steps to reproduce
Create a page containing the following content using the standard DokuWiki editor:
=== Lorem Ipsum ===
Praesent libero. Sed cursus ante dapibus diam, jenseits der allgemeinen [[dummy:start#dummy_anchor|Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet]]. Commodo consequat duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur, abgebildet in [[dummy:placeholder:page|Lorem ipsum placeholder]].
Save the page.
Open the page in ckgedit.
Save the page. This results in delays saving. However first it looks normal but if you changed something the page will not be updated.
Try to edit the page again in the standard editor.
The page content is replaced with: "false"
The previous revision then has to be restored manually.
Expected result: The page should save normally in ckgedit, preserving the footnote syntax and all page content. One should be able to edit it afterwards in the normal editor.
Additional notes
The issue is reproducible.
The same content works in the standard DokuWiki editor.
I also tested other markup elements separately, including internal links, external links, images, tables, nested lists, and nowiki blocks.
These did not reproduce the failure on their own in my setup.
The footnote syntax appears to be the decisive trigger.
