Feature: Add Oracle Distributed Cloud platform support for OpenShift provisioning #47

Description

@kaovilai

Feature request

Add support for provisioning and managing OpenShift Container Platform clusters on Oracle Distributed Cloud (OCI/OCC) via ocpctl.

Background

OpenShift 4.21 supports installer-provisioned infrastructure (IPI) on Oracle Distributed Cloud. Adding this support to ocpctl will further extend multi-cloud/hybrid capabilities and meet Oracle Cloud customer requirements.

Desired behavior

  • Add Oracle Cloud as a selectable platform in the API and web UI.
  • Implement Oracle Cloud profile definitions for OpenShift clusters.
  • Add install-config rendering and lifecycle handlers for Oracle IPI clusters.
  • Add credential handling and validation for Oracle identity and permissions.
  • Implement resource cleanup for Oracle infrastructure.
  • Add cost estimation for typical Oracle OpenShift clusters.
  • Document prerequisites, required permissions, supported regions, and cluster installation steps.

References

Impact

  • Expands ocpctl to support Oracle Cloud environments.
  • Meets OpenShift multi-cloud and on-premises/private cloud needs in regulated industries.
