Web version of Instagram/X partially loads (logo only) and gets 502 on any other path (e.g., /login)

Describe the bug
When using the VPN in connected mode (MITM + Apps Script relay), instagram.com and x.com show only a logo (or skeleton) in the browser. Navigating to any other path – like /login – instantly returns a 502 Relay error. Other sites (e.g., Spotify) work fine, and the tunnel itself appears healthy.

To Reproduce

Start the VPN , using a working Apps Script relay.

Open Chrome and go to instagram.com or x.com.

Observe the page: only the site’s logo or a blank arm loads; nothing else renders.

Try to go to instagram.com/login or x.com/login (or any path other than the root).

The browser shows a 502 error page with a relay error message.

@Rezjef — "Instagram/X logo loads, /login returns 502" pattern is consistent with:

1. Static assets (logo, fonts, CSS) come from CDN paths (, ) that successfully cache through Code.gs's spreadsheet cache.
2. Dynamic / authenticated paths (/login, /api/...) require POST with cookies and hit Apps Script's UrlFetchApp directly — those are where 502 happens.

The 502 likely comes from CF anti-bot flagging Apps Script's outbound IP. Both Instagram and X are Cloudflare-fronted; CF JA3-fingerprints Apps Script's UrlFetchApp and serves 5xx for anything that triggers anti-bot rules (login forms, API endpoints).

Fix: route both through exit-node:

Static asset paths keep going through apps_script cache (fast), login + API paths go through exit-node (looks like residential traffic to CF). Login flow completes.

PR #963 (utls Chrome ClientHello, in community testing) would fix this without needing exit-node — JA3 mimicry tricks CF's fingerprint check. Track that PR for the architectural answer.

Closing — exit-node is the workaround today. Reopen with exit-node setup specifics if that path also fails.
