Hi Runar,

there has not been any update on feapy for 3 years. Do you still develop or use feapy? Development versions of FreeCAD are able to generate Abaqus input files for beam elements. Since Abaqus does only support circ and rect beam elements I'm searching for alternatives which could calculate structures like trusses etc.

Hi Bernd,

No, unfortunately I have no plans to develop feapy any further.

I suggest that you take a look at the frame3dd project, which
seems to be active developed. It has a different input format,
but it should be simple to adapt. I have not used this software
myself, but looking at the documentation it looks to be of
good quality.

This seams a fork of the original project which has not been udated for the last two years.

Also note that the original NASTRAN source has been released by NASA.

Look for the forks. I believe the forks should be possible to build with GCC.
This code is actually quite complete (from the mid 1990) with
regards to FEM elements and methods. Missing are utilization
of modern hardware and advances in solve technology.
