My name is Josh.

I'm a Senior Software Engineer at Buildkite and an active member of the Ruby community. I serve on the Rails Issues team, help maintain Puma and Concurrent Ruby, and volunteer with RubyGems on-call support.

What started as occasional OSS contributions has grown into a significant part of my work. I regularly contribute to Rails, maintain several Ruby libraries (Dial, RactorPool, AtomicRuby, MmapRuby, and more), and help triage issues across the ecosystem.

Most of this happens in my spare time—early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Sponsorships help me:
