Open tools for experimental systems

I’m Sebastian Suarez-Solis, an artist-engineer and researcher working across creative software, machine learning, spatial media, networked performance, and cybernetic systems.

Much of my work begins as infrastructure for an artwork, performance, research project, or teaching environment. I publish the parts that can become useful beyond their original context: protocols, applications, libraries, technical studies, and complete experimental systems.

Current projects include:

• Viable Prompt Protocol – an open protocol for structured, iterative human–AI work
• letgo – a distributed spatial-media system combining synchronized devices, live video, computer vision, and machine learning
• Tmayd – an evolving platform for machine-assisted physical systems and electronic take-up control
• co – a site-specific generative artwork built from agents, routes, signals, and changing environmental conditions
• independent tools for synchronization, show control, self-hosting, creative computation, and research

Sponsorship supports the less visible work that makes these projects genuinely reusable:

• maintaining and testing public repositories
• improving documentation and examples
• packaging prototypes into dependable releases
• keeping older projects operational as platforms change
• publishing research, experiments, and technical methods openly
• developing tools without requiring them to become commercial products

Most of these systems sit between established categories—part software, part artwork, part research instrument. Sponsorship gives me more time to preserve that independence while making the resulting tools clearer, sturdier, and more useful to others.
