I am using ScanStudio v0.7.0-beta.3 with a Nikon Coolscan 5000 ED and SA30 and SA21 adapters on macOS 26.5.2 (Tahoe) with an M4 pro.
When I preview a strip of 6 frames ScanStudio can detect all 6 frames and align them correctly using both the SA30 and the SA21. (In the example below it asked to review 2 frames but they were aligned correctly). During this step, the scanner pulls in the whole strip and it stays inside even after the preview scan has finished. (Not sure if this is correct or not)
When I then try to scan the strip, the scanner moves the strip back out so it can move it to the first frame, makes some noise as if it's trying to find or scan the first frame, and then suddenly it continuously pulls in the whole strip as with the preview scan. (Too fast to make an actual high-res scan.) In the UI it then shows that 0 scans were completed, without any technical details.
The strip is at that point completely inside the scanner again. When I try to eject the strip, I get the error from the 3rd screenshot. I can only eject the strip at this point by turning the scanner off and on again.
Is this more likely to be a software issue, or a hardware issue?
This scanner is new to me and was working fine with the seller's computer and Vuescan.
On my machine it also works okay with Vuescan and Silverfast although the frame alignment is often not good in those apps when I scan full rolls with the SA30. Actual scanning does work with Vuescan and Silverfast, and the scans look good (sharp etc) once I can get the frames aligned correctly.
Note that with full rolls I am also experiencing this issue where it doesn't detect any frames, as others have also reported in other issues: #68
