  • Mention battery terminal corrosion as a common cause of ARU failure. Info from Pat:
    • Corroded battery terminals are some of the most common causes of device failure. I think it's really really important that we never store ARUs with batteries in them for too long after getting them back from the field. I've noticed that even leaving the batteries in [an AudioMoth that stays inside the lab as a control] for too long causes a surprising amount of white corrosion to form on the terminals. I've also been able to get some of that corrosion off of the battery terminals by using the eraser on a pencil as an abrasive to scrub the metal connections.
  • Add pictures of PCB separated from battery pack
  • Describe where moth hardware can fail and why
  • Update the guidance (and the battery/storage life calculation code) based on the battery experiment, as well as mention how to determine what the amperage of your batteries is (or simply mention the expected amperage of typical lithium vs. alkaline batteries).

Will wait until first Spanish translation of guide is complete before integrating these.
