Adding a custom repository to a self-hosted ASU (Attended Sysupgrade) server

Hi, I need help adding my local repository to a self-hosted ASU server. I have two repositories signed with a key:

src/gz x86_64 http://192.168.0.16/openwrt_repo/x86_64/

src/gz all http://192.168.0.16/openwrt_repo/all/

The repository structure includes index.json, the *.ipk packages themselves, Packages manifests, and other standard files. How can I correctly register these in my ASU instance?

Note that this won't work for apk-based OpenWrt versions, as the repository layout and file names have changed (so, only will work for 24.10 and earlier). The ASU builder needs an update for those newer versions...

You first need to add the repo locations to the .env file.

REPOSITORY_ALLOW_LIST=[ "http://192.168.0.16/openwrt_repo/x86_64/", "http://192.168.0.16/openwrt_repo/all/" ]

Test that it's working, and when the output from below looks ok, restart your ASU server.

Then the hard part, you need to create a build request that contains a dictionary of those as "name":"location" pairs:

...

Since none of the existing clients implements this, you're sort of on your own here, but...

You could hack up a local copy of owut very easily to hard code that json chunk in the request. Basically add the above snippet right into vi /usr/bin/owut at the blob definition shown here (or just search for let blob = { and you'll be there).

Test it with the owut blob command to verify your changes, then let it rip.
