I think this option, to be able to set a cutoff on the percentage of records in a polygon, could be a dangerous thing to include.

For example, let's say one set the cutoff to 5%, then a data-set with 1000 records from one species, might have 30 records in a polygon, but still be scored as "not present" in that area.

I vote for closing this issue without implementing the feature. What do you guys think?

I understand your point, but I still think it should be up to the user to decide. Ideally, SPC would report everything it did in the end, e.g. which species were excluded and why. Zizka and I actually got this comment from Michael Donoghue today who said it's often so that species in e.g. rainforests are sometimes found in savannas. Allowing the user to choose one or the other, or a combination of both, would be best. That said, this might be left for future enhancements if too complicated?
