Following a colossally idiotic mistake of mine (where I thought I could wire connectors with the Wire item itself and not the Wire Spool item)
Right-clicking a connector while holding a wire either:
- tells the player he needs to have a wire spool to connect them
- enables the player to wire a connector, so long as he has four units of the wire he wants to wire them with (as the spool, the item one wires connectors with, demands four units of wire to be crafted).
While the latter may seem to make the Spool Item a little pointless, I beg to differ. As it is crafted of four wires (and thus being able to wire two connectors), and having the conventional stack size of 64, the Wire Spools are a very efficient way to stack more wiring in less space (it would take four inventory slots to hold the amount of wire to make the spools). As such, they can be useful for large builds/electric pathways.
I hope the suggestion will be taken into consideration for 1.5.12.
Thank you for your attention.
