Unable to place blocks on eroded sand

Hello! This mod is awesome and feels very immersive.

However when playing with this mod enabled I have had one annoyance that breaks the immersion a bit.
It is impossible to place any blocks above eroded sand. It would make the mod feel less intrusive if it were possible to just place blocks where I want.

Maybe this happens only in the version I am playing on but it would be awesome if you could fix this :)

Same with 1.21.11.
But I assume it's more like a feature instead of a bug, since it seems placing blocks on top of eroded blocks would reset their states back to the origin, while eroded sand actually looks a bit smaller which represents loss of sand, if you place a block on it and it reset, it would just not make any common sense.
