Selecting lights with corona causes a crash. Also barely anything gets selected when near the light with corona

Same, selecting anything that has transparency will crash, whether that be a shader in the texture browser, or on a sheet in the world, or an xEmitter with a see-through icon. Also selecting the vertices editing mode leads to a crash for me.

It's the only game that I have tried your selection fix with; here's my error when selecting a transparent texture:

Don't use any other external patch that modifies base engine dlls, it's not compatible.

Because this is a binary patch, it has to be aligned specifically to a specific version.
Also: make sure you're using the one I posted about a month ago.

Ah yep, just checked that patch. It introduces new virtual functions to core engine classes, it's not compatible.

@EliotVU @NoanneKLLY please uninstall that patch to use this. I can't make this compatible with anything but the last retail patch.

You can make a separate copy to just use the editor

I used the steam version of ut2004 and ued. The map I tried to edit is as-mothership in the outside generator area. It has so many lights with corona and barely anything gets selected and can cause a crash

I can also confirm this, tried selecting a light that has a corona then wanted to select something else and it crashed.
I am using a vanilla install from steam with no mods or patches, here is the way to reproduce it:

1. open AS-MotherShip
2. Try selecting a green light with a corona on it, doesn't work really well move closer to the light and try selecting it again
3. Once selected move the camera back so the corona appears again
4. Then click on anything else around the light or try selecting something else
5. Boom the editor crashes with:
